CONWY CASTLE

As the sign said, Conwy Castle (sometimes spelled Conway) was built in four years in the 13th century.  It's an amazing feat in that the castle is quite extensive, so it must have required an enormous amount of manpower to accomplish.  Conwy, as well as many other castles, was built by the English to keep the supposedly barbaric Welsh at bay.  Our guided tour of the castle was interesting for its historical and period architectural aspects.  Here are a few photos of the castle.

The following small chapel was dimly lit and the post processing of this photo--to deal with the fact that the walls were much, much darker than the windows--created an unusual, even somewhat creepy, effect.  It's not "natural," but I left it as it turned out.

I did like the sculpture below, primarily made of refashioned wood structural pieces.

John.
