CHESTER ENGLAND

After leaving the English Lake District, our Great Britain tour group headed for Wales.  On the way we stopped for lunch and a walking tour of Chester, England, a city of some 80,000 residents that dates back to Roman times and that includes a relatively large cathedral.  After lunch, I slipped into the cathedral for a few photos before finding my way back to the motor coach before it left for Wales.  Here are some of the photos I took in the city and the cathedral.

Clock atop remnants of Roman city wall.

Street mosaics.

Exterior detail of cathedral.

The cathedral was surprisingly large and appeared to have been added on to over the years in somewhat different architectural styles.

There was some sort of video event going on that involved the use of violet flood lights.

The stained glass windows were quite nice.

John.
