MOROCCO: RABAT
I spent the latter part of April in Morocco on a small group tour run by Odysseys-Unlimited, and I plan to make several blog posts of the trip, each featuring a selection of photos that I took during my visit.
The tour flew in and out of Casablanca, but the first stop was in Rabat, a beautiful city that has a European feel. Rabat is Morocco’s capital and the seat of government, which is a constitutional monarchy. One of our first stops was at the gorgeous mausoleum of Mohamed V, the grandfather of the current king.

The mausoleum sits across from a wide plaza of pillars in addition to the 12th century Hassan Tower.
We also visited the exterior of the king's massive Rabat palace, one of several royal palaces scattered across Morocco. Visitors are not permitted in the palace and when I got closer than about 40 yards from the entrance, guards warned me to move back.
Morocco has a plethora of feral cats, all seemingly friendly. This one was nice enough to pose for its picture.
