MOROCCO: MEKNES
On the Moroccan tour, after spending two nights in Rabat, we traveled to Fez. En route we visited Meknes, the capital of Morocco in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Entering the city we passed through the Bab el Mansour gate.
We then visited Dar Jamai Museum, housed in a former palatial residence and containing cultural artifacts, including musical instruments. The exhibits were interesting, but the real attraction for me was the building itself, with its exquisite tile work and other details, as well as its intriguing passageways.
